Boom Supersonic ships its first turbine core and opens a 2 GW turbine factory in South Denver

Boom says its first prototype turbine core, the same core meant for its Superpower 42 MW natural gas turbine, is heading to a test cell, with operation expected by Thanksgiving. Its nearly 200,000 sq ft South Denver factory is already making parts. When fully running, Boom says it will build 2 GW of turbines a year and employ up to 500 machinists, technicians and engineers. For anyone waiting on gas turbines for new power, it is a new domestic supplier that makes most of its own parts, including single crystal blades cast without tooling.
